Melanie Matthews is a North Carolina based actor whose career bridges performance and education. Most recently, she portrayed Rose in Blooming in Dry Season with New Federal Theatre at WP Theater in New York City.

Her stage work includes classical theatre, contemporary drama, musicals, and new works with companies across North Carolina and New York. She is drawn to stories that explore humanity, resilience, and connection.

Outside the theatre, Melanie is an experienced English educator who brings the same passion for storytelling into the classroom. She believes the arts and education share a common purpose: helping people see the world, and one another, with greater understanding.
